Abstract: These steps can be followed to have access to the AS/400 from personal Apple devices.

Go to the App Store and download the following apps:

GlobalProtect: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/globalprotect/id1400555706

TN5250 Lite: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tn5250-lite/id284906090

Alternatively, there is also TN5250. The difference is that TN5250 Lite has a five minute time limitation for AS/400 sessions, but there is no limit for TN5250. Otherwise, the apps should function identically. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tn5250/id284741179

After the apps are downloaded, launch the GlobalProtect app. Tap the sidebar and select settings.

For “Portal”, tap on edit. Tapping on this should take you to the following screen. Type in idealvpn.pgttrucking.com, and then press connect. It will then prompt you for your Windows credentials.

After tapping “Sign in,” you should now be connected to the VPN.

Open the TN5250 or TN5250 Lite app. Tap “Configure”, and then “New…”

For AS/400 IP, type in “pgtcorp.pgttrucking.com” and make sure that Terminal 27x132 is enabled. None of the other settings should need touched.

Once this is done, hit back until you get to the app’s main screen. Tap connect, and you should be authenticated to an AS/400 session.
